
Building a brighter future in Kashitu
New Renato Community Society (NRCS) is a locally based Zambian non-governmental organisation. Since 1987 we have been improving the lives of vulnerable children, families and communities in Kashitu, Zambia.

Founded by inhabitants of Kashitu village and officially registered in 1996.
40+ volunteers
Our local volunteers form a multidisciplinary team of administrators, teachers, social workers, agriculturists, trade experts and other skilled individuals.

What we have achieved so far
- Establishment of two nursery schools
- Construction of a primary school
- Construction of teachers’ houses
- Drilling of boreholes as a water source for the community
- Construction of a multipurpose workshop
- Construction of a honey processing workshop
- Installation of a solar power supply (photovoltaic system)
- Construction of a beekeeping classroom (in progress)
- UNDP compost toilets (in progress)
Our pillars
Education
We contribute to the improvement of education standards amongst orphaned and vulnerable children through building schools and providing educational materials.
Health
We contribute to the development of health services and infrastructure, support water and sanitation by providing borehole water sources, and promote nutrition programmes in rural areas.
Youth and women
We create opportunities for the development of youths and women through entrepreneurship, capacity building, and mindset and behavioural change.
Agriculture
We support food security in every household through diversified farming approaches such as climate change interventions, beekeeping, irrigation gardening, poultry and compost manure farming.
Water and sanitation
We promote safe water by drilling boreholes, improved sanitation and good hygiene practices to protect community health, and build healthy toilets through education and construction.
Justice
We contribute to equitable development for all through advocacy, bridging inequality, empowering the vulnerable and promoting human rights.

- Construction: building Kashitu’s future
Through teamwork and partnership, NRCS and Czech volunteers are building schools, classrooms and community infrastructure in Kashitu. - Safe water and sanitation
With support from Fountains of Life e.V. Germany, NRCS has drilled boreholes that bring clean, safe water to the Kashitu community. - Supporting beekeeping
More than 1,000 local farmers have been trained in beekeeping through our pilot project led by Mr. Thomas Kafula. - Building schools and learning materials
